Forest of Dean Enduro Photos 2009
Well done to all those who competed in the Forest of Dean Enduro today. It looked like a great event with perfect conditions. The dry, dusty singletrack looked amazing.
I’m still under doctors orders not to ride in such things so I took a whole load of photos instead and they are now online ready for all to see and buy: Forest of Dean Enduro Photos 2009
Here are a few as a taster, but the link above takes you to the full album. They are ordered and titled by rider number so you should be able to find yourself fairly easily. There are a few here and there where I couldn’t see the number, these should be on the last page of the gallery. Feel free to use the images on your personal blogs or for non-commercial purposes, but please keep the copyright watermark in place. You can buy a full size, non-watermarked digital image from the Forest of Dean Enduro Photo Album.

There are over 600 photos in the album so I have had to reduce the size and quality of them quite a bit for the web but the hi-res versions will be much better.
Sorry if I missed you, but I couldn’t get everyone, it’s nothing personal!
See if you are in the album here.
Some great pics in there mate. Three of us took part in the 2-lap race and I expect an order will be coming your way today!
Maybe see you riding next year?
Thanks Weon,
Glad to hear you had a good day (and the you’ll be placing an order for some photos!). The course looked really good so it was pretty frustrating having to be on the other side of the camera, but I still had a nice little wander around the forest I guess and hopefully selling some photos will pay for my diesel if nothing else.
I’m going to get an appointment with the doctors later this week and hopefully get back on the bike soon. Maybe a couple of easy sessions on the turbo trainer first and then out into the hills.
I’ll definitely put the Forest of Dean Enduro down on my ‘to do’ list for next year though as it looked excellent

I’m pleased with the results of my photographic efforts on Sunday and what really makes it all worthwhile is the feedback I get from people who buy the photos.
Here’s one I’ve just received by e-mail:
And another happy customer! Keep them coming. 🙂
Jon, Thanks for the feedback. It does actually take some considerable time to go through all of the photos and number them, order them, and get them ready for the web so I can see why some people might not do it. I do, and I’m glad to hear you appreciate my efforts.
I’m actually in the process of writing a blog post with tips for MTB event photography and that is one of them, so it good to see that it pays off.
I’m glad you were pleased with your photo too. I don’t make much profit from selling them, the prices I charge simply cover my costs so the main thing I get from it is the ‘feel good’ factor when people say they are happy with the photos. I might try to make some money from it in the future by revising my prices and offering more options such as different sized prints, photo mugs, mousemats etc. So it would be good to hear what people actually want. Do people want a physical product such as a print or would they prefer to sort that out themselves from a digital image file?

What resolution will the actual high resolution image be if I order one and also do I download them straight away if I order one?
Hi Chris,
The resolution of the photos are approx. 4272×2848. Plenty big enough for enlargement and printing
It isn’t an automatic download, I’ll send it to you via e-mail once the order is placed.
Thanks,
Al.
It looks as though the timing people didn’t take the 10mins start delay on the Sport category into consideration.
I’ll let you know if they fix it.
Al.
Latest update on the Forest of Dean Enduro Results is that the “results are provisional. If you have a query about them, please email us [RDFCC] with “Results” in the subject line.
Photos have been selling well. I think I even made some profit.
Feedback has been good too. Here’s the latest.
Stuart (Rider no 263). Thanks for your order, I’ve tried sending your photo to you but the e-mail address you provided doesn’t work and the e-mails I send keep bouncing back.
Can you contact me so that I can give you an alternative method for getting your photo.
Thanks,
Al.
Amazing I’m still selling the odd photo from the Forest of Dean Enduro, so here’s the latest feedback, which as you know, I love receiving.
And some more feedback today… Although this time I can’t name names:
Could it be you??? 🙂
Some great action shots! The Forest of Dean natural forest setting is a great place to mountain bike! Some great tracks around there too.
