Purple Pollen
Check out this bright purple pollen being brought back to a hive by one of our bees. Does anyone know what flower it might have come from?

Poppy can be a purply-black colour, though the poppy pollen I’ve seen before has been darker than that. Hope you can find out what it is!
I have found this photo though of a bee on a Mesembryanthemum… The colour of the pollen looks about right, but i don’t know if anyone has any of these flowers in their gardens locally.

Very pretty!
Credit for the photo goes to Morgan by the way. He seems happier to take photos while we look at the bees than do much beekeeping himself!
