Lego Trainset
I’m happy to report that despite spending my day working at the University on Morgan’s birthday he did save some lego for me to help him build. So that’s exactly what we did yesterday.
I started the day with a run, the slowest I’ve ever been around that course so not a great start, but at least I had some lovely views of a crescent moon and Venus close together in the South Eastern sky as I ran. Anna was off to work early as soon as I got home so I jumped in the shower and then Morgan and I collected an egg from the chickens we are looking after for a friend and let them out for the day. I then had lots of chores to do in order to catch up with various things from the day before and finally we were able to get down to some serious lego building! After emptying the box, there was quite a mountain of lego to build.
I know I always say this, but Lego is pretty cool and the huge trainset that Morgan got for his birthday was no exception. He had already built the main engine of the cargo train and had incorporated the new pieces of track with the track that he had from the passenger train set. You’d think that would be enough for one set, especially seeing as the cargo train engine has an infra-red remote control and is powered. We’d already tried it out and it was more powerful than the passenger train, able to pull heavier carriages, just as a cargo train should be.
There was still plenty to build though, including an overhead gantry with a crane to load the containers on and off the train, a car transporter carriage, an oil tanker carriage, a container carriage, a couple of little cars for the car transporter carriage and a truck with a container on it too. As usual, the attention to detail within these models was just perfect and everything just worked the way it should. Morgan’s trainset is now looking pretty impressive.

I reckon he should now build all of his Lego City models up how they should be so that he has a whole city. I’m not sure how easy that will be though as all of the set are mixed up and stored in various boxes. I think he still has the instructions for most of them though.
Jealous of all that Lego building!
Must have taken hours to build but very impressive, you will need an extension soon just for lego…imagine a whole room full of Morgan’s lego you could build and rebuild for hours 🙂
