Let it Snow…
We didn’t get huge amounts of snow here, but it did start snowing quite heavily whilst Morgan and I were out Mountain Biking yesterday at Pendam. Once we’d finished biking and got into the car it came down really heavily again so Morgan took a quick video clip of the snowstorm as I drove along just so that we could share it here.
I had promised Morgan that we would walk to the summit of Pumlumon as soon as there was some snow and whilst out on my early morning run today the hills certainly looked to be snow-capped. So, after a quick swim and a drive back home we kitted up and headed out for a family walk onto what were hopefully the snow-covered slopes of Pumlumon.
There was very little snow on the drive up to Eisteddfod Gurig, actually, that’s not true, there was none at all. I was beginning to think that maybe I’d got a little over excited, but once onto the path it looked a bit more promising. The snow deepened as we climbed higher and by the summit there was plenty to keep everyone happy.

It was pretty hot on the climb up but we stopped plenty of times and kept ourselves going thanks to a box of Quality Street that was a present to us from one of our Scouts – Thanks Josh! The views were spectacular as the Cambrian Mountains stretched out around us under a cloud-free blue winter sky.

We weren’t the only ones up in the hills today but it was by no means busy so we had plenty of snowball fights and played in the snow together on the way back down. A nice little walk but we all had tired legs by the end.
