Out and About with my Parents

My parents picked a nice week to come to Wales. After a few days in glorious sunshine in a caravan at Poppit Sands they arrived on Friday for a quick visit here.

The weather continued to impress. Friday evening was spent at Brynrodyn Caravan Site in ‘The View’, overlooking Borth at its best whilst a band from the town of St. Brieuc in France played a concert for us. The town of St Brieuc is twinned with Aberystwyth and we went to visit them with the Aberystwyth Silver Band a few years ago. They were now in Aberystwyth repaying the visit and Anna had been helping organise things. It was a nice way to spend the evening.

Saturday morning was spent in Aberystwyth shopping and visiting the Rheidol Railway Museum. We then had a stroll on the beach and dinner at home. I think I went for a quick bike ride in the morning as well.

After a quick run on Sunday (for me, as no one else fancied it!) it was off for a drive around the Mach Loop, stopping off at Dinas Mawddwy and then the Brigands Inn for a nice Sunday lunch.

The only other exciting thing that happened was a FaceTime call with Morgan where he announced that the accommodation prices in Banff, Canada are getting expensive for the summer so he might buy a car and live in that!!! This plan is still under discussion! We thought that a stumbling block for him might be getting a drivers license, but somehow he’s already managed to do that.
