Journee Clues – Our Mystery Destination
Spoiler Alert – If you’re going on a Journee trip, tread carefully! We won’t give anything away—partly because we don’t even know where we’re going yet! But we also don’t want to ruin the surprise for anyone else.
With our mystery trip fast approaching, speculation has been rising about where we’ll end up. We’ve been getting regular updates from Journee with clues to the destination, but none of them have given it away for sure. We could probably figure it out if we really wanted to, but we don’t want to spoil the surprise for ourselves. So, Googling and other research have been kept to a minimum.
What We Know So Far
There are a few things we do know:
- The approximate flight time
- It’s a direct flight from Manchester
- The flight is between 3 and 5 hours
- It’s in Europe
- The trip includes a surf lesson, an EV bike tour, and star-gazing
With these in mind, we figured that the surf lesson probably ruled out much of the Mediterranean. So, we’re likely looking at the west coast of France, Portugal, the Atlantic coast of Spain, or the Atlantic islands like the Canaries, Azores, or Madeira. Morocco would have been a contender, but we know it’s definitely in Europe.
The Clues So Far
- Your destination’s first settlers are well-known around town for their kindness.
- Year-round sunshine awaits you at your mystery destination.
- Thanks to its impressive nature and unique landscapes, your destination is a popular film set.
- As legend goes, your destination was once part of a lost civilisation.
- A popular watersport was invented in your destination. Nowadays, it’s one of the best places in the world for it.
- Some people say that your destination looks like an animal on a map.
- The capital city in your destination was renamed—to the surprise of many locals. It wasn’t announced prior to the change.
None of these have given the game away completely, but we’re leaning toward it being one of the Canary Islands—most likely Fuerteventura. That said, even if our guess is correct, it doesn’t ruin the surprise. We still don’t know exactly where we’ll be staying, what the hotel will be like, or what the resort will have to offer. For all we know, the clues might have led us completely astray, and our guesses could be way off! We’ll only find out for sure when we get to the airport.
We’ve got one more clue to come, and then we’ll receive a packing list and an envelope with our boarding passes—sealed until we arrive at the airport. Even though we’ve been making educated guesses, the excitement is still very real!
